Blythweb
Ltd are very proud to be publishing and printing the village newsletter
'Wenhaston Word'.
From April 2007 this colour newsletter is published monthly at Blythweb's office, and is distributed by volunteers to the 440 letterboxes
in Wenhaston and Mells. Suitable items for inclusion are welcome.
It is also available online, in Adobe acrobat (PDF) format, on
its own website: www.wenhastonword.co.uk |
The
Wenhaston Doom is a medieval wall painting that is unusual for
having been painted on to wooden boards. Few other such Dooms have
survived and indeed the story of the Wenhaston Doom is remarkable.
In particular many such paintings were considered "idolatrous" and
destroyed during the puritan Commonwealth which followed Cromwell's
victory in the English Civil War.
On our website you can explore the Doom
in detail and read a commentary about it and the various
images featured. |
The
latest version of the Wenhaston Good
Village Guide is available on this website. The Guide was
originally produced by Wenhaston Community Council (1971 - 2006)
to help new residents settle into the village. Blythweb are pleased
to carry on updating and publicising this useful information. |

The
village millennium map is now available online here.
The images are quite big and do take a minute or two to appear
so please be patient! You can zoom into the map to two levels
